Ottomeister - Nordheimer Beijing Hsinghai Piano Factory was established in 1949. It was
the first Chinese factory to manufacture a grand piano. Today it has
huge modern production facilities and a selection of fine pianos and
grand pianos that meets the ever-increasing domestic and international
demands for quality, sound, and performance. The annual output now
exceeds over 50,000 pianos, and both of the company's brands--Otto
Meister and Xinghai--are sold worldwide in over 50 countries. Its
pianos are marketed under the brands Hallet & Davis, Nordheimer, and

Niemeyer Suzuki - Ekstrom The name " Dongbei " means " Northeast " in Chinese. The Dongbei Piano Factory's history can be traced back to the early 1920's. It was once part of the Shanghai Piano Company, the only piano manufacturer in all of China. In 1952 it became an independent company, moving to northeast of China where the wood materials are of the highest quality in all of Asia. The company was newly named Dongbei Piano Factory. Many changes have taken place in their fifty year history, especially the last three. Dongbei has become one of the largest producers of grand and upright pianos. They now rank in same category of many of the worlds finest piano maker. In the year 2007, Dongbei was acquired by Baldwin Piano Company. Pianos built by Dongbei are also marketed under the Suzuki, and August Hoffman brands. The premium series using Abel hammers are marketed under the Nordiska brand by Geneva International. |
